Other details:
- This is an alcohol-free event.
- The event will begin with a safety briefing, then the shoot, and then (while the scorecards are being tallied) a cleaning and maintenance demonstration.
- Participants are divided into age groups; divisions will be based on age as well as the number of participants, so each age group has approximately the same number (most likely three groups of seven, but depending on the distribution it is possible to have one large group with prizes going to the first and second places and a small group with one prize). The idea is, at the beginning, each participant starts with the same probability of winning.
- There will be 4 shots (2 H and 2 L) at each of 5 stations. Stations will be announced after the safety talk.
- The winning shooter(s) of each age group will be determined by total score. Tiebreakers will be settled with a 4-shot shoot-off on a different station.
- The number of participants is limited; participation is on a FCFS (first come first served, by application receipt) basis. Registered participants are listed below.
- If you are waitlisted, you are encouraged to show up anyway. For each no-show, one on the waiting list will get to particpate, in order.
- Transfer of firearms must be to a parent or guardian at least 18 years of age who can legally receive said firearm in the state of California. If the minor may legally shoot but the parent is legally disqualified from ownership (or just doesn't want the gun), please check the appropriate box on the minor's waiver.
- Winners are responsible for the transfer (DROS) fee of $55.00.
- The Scout Oath and Law (listed at the bottom) apply to all behavior at this event.
All people present must
- have eye and ear protection and
- sign a [CVSC waiver]. For all minors attending, the parent or legal guardian must fill out the release form (waiver link above). So if the parent is not present, (s)he will have to fill out the waiver and send it with the child. (The child can not fill it out on his own. All yellow fields are parent information, and then the child's name is added in the paragraph under "LEGAL GUARDIAN'S CONSENT AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT."
Click [here] for the participant waiver. Scan and e-mail to Troop792@yahoo.com (or bring with on Sept. 15).
A Crew rep will meet you at the Clubhouse at 7:00, where you will turn in the CVSC Waivers. You must provide eye protection (sunglasses are fine). Shooters will have the option of using clear safety glasses. If you have not submitted the participant application, hold on to it and bring it to the shoot location.
